Die holländische Künstlerin YEB WIERSMA war 2004 Artist in Residence im Kunst- und Kulturzentrum Nairs in Scuol Tarasp. Künstler, Schauspieler, Literaten und Musiker aus aller Welt wohnen und arbeiten während eines Sommers im ehemaligen Badehaus. Umgeben von den Prachtbauten einst mondäner Hotels, gebaut und unterhalten von Gastarbeitern aus dem Süden.

Although the international artists’ residency has been operating for over twenty years, to some of the local mountain villagers the guest artists are still considered as ‘The Strange People from the Valley’. The dissection of the words GAST ARBEIT FREMD ZIMMER defines the complex situation of being an invited foreigner, but also artistic worker.
